On April 15, 2015, 61-year-old rural mail carrier Doug Hughes grabbed headlines after flying his one-man gyrocopter from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to Washington DC and touching down on the west lawn of the Capitol building, bringing with him 535 letters - one for each member of Congress to draw attention to the pressing need for campaign finance reform.

In this interview with The Young Turks’ Cenk Uygur, Hughes talks about:

Power Panel; Cenk, Ben, Ana, and guest Maz Jobrani hosting. Donald Trump has gone after Republican critics like John McCain and Rick Perry on Twitter. Called McCain dummy and said Perry should have to take an IQ test before being allowed in a debate. Even John Dingell, the longest serving Congressman in American history told Trump he should delete his Twitter account. Lawrence O’Donnell has become the next MSNBC host to apologize for no reason. Video of O’Donnell outlining why he loves Trump and that he didn’t want to become part of the story of Trump’s campaign. He later apologized for questioning Trump’s salary from NBC for The Apprentice. Donald Trump is polling at 18% and leading 2nd place by 4% points. Talk about how incompetent someone would have to be to lose their job to an immigrant that doesn’t know the language.

Lil Wayne was the target of an attempted murder plot carried out by Birdman and Young Thug. This was the culmination of the money dispute between Wayne and the label Young Money, who sued the label for over $50 million. With a new male CEO, Reddit continues to ban things like spam, copyrighted material, publication of someone’s private info, inciting harm or violence, and sexualy suggestive content that includes minors.

Hour 1: Cenk hosting. A military recruiting and training center in Tennessee was attacked today, killing 4 members of the military. The shooter fired a very powerful automatic rifle. The dead shooter was a 24 year old Muslim man that was an American citizen. Cenk is annoyed that the Dylann Roof mass shooting wasn’t considered a terrorist attack when it was just like this terrorist attack. Sandra Bland, a Black woman, was arrested on Friday by Texas police officers and held until Monday, when they found her dead body in the holding cell. Officials have called it suicide, but friends and family are disputing the claim. Video of officers making the arrest where they claim she assaulted the cop. After the deal in Greece and the Europeans was approved by the government, citizens took to the streets in protest. The peaceful protests turned into violence against riot police officers.

Hour 2: Ana joins Cenk for SCS. Controversy over Caitlyn Jenner winning the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs. Bob Costas went on the Dan Patrick show and called it a crass exploitation play and that they could’ve found someone more deserving. Actor and director Peter Berg posted a picture of a soldier that lost his legs that was rumored to have lost the award to Jenner at the last minute, saying he lost 2 legs for this “man” to lose two balls. It has also been rumored that Caitlyn Jenner won the award because it was in exchange for the exclusive interview with Diane Sawyer earlier this year.

Hour 1: After Bill O’Reilly defended Trump’s statements about undocumented immigrants, he became outraged by the media’s reporting of it. Video of his ambush interviews on SF government officials. Video of O’Reilly going after Salon, Media Matters, and SJ Mercury News for reporting his support for Trump by comparing them to White Supremacist group Stormfront. A Satanic temple in Detroit was planning to unveil a statue of satan after they were repeatedly threatened by Christians. Discussion about how they sound just like Muslim terrorists, targeting an opposing religion. A federal judge forced Gardena police to release a police video from 2013 of officers killing an unarmed Latino man over a stolen bike that he didn’t steal. Video of the murder.

Hour 2: Cenk and Ana. New video of Mexican drug lord El Chapo’s escape has been released by the Mexican government. A RW anti-abortion group has released a video of their meeting with a Planned Parenthood executive that they claim shows PP taking part in selling fetal organs to a biotech company. In response, Louisiana Gov Bobby Jindal has halted all plans for New Orleans to open a PP office while an investigation takes place. A bill that would raise $4.75 million for breast cancer research was also eliminated in Congress over the video.

Hour 1: Cenk hosting. We have struck a deal with Iran over their nuclear program and Conservatives are losing their minds. Videos of President Obama speaking about how great the deal is and how it will prevent war and their development of a nuclear bomb. Cenk supports the deal. He sifts through Richard Engel’s reporting about the potential downsides of the deal, that it could worsen the bad blood that already exists between ISIS and Iran. Benjamin Netanyahu called the deal a historic mistake. Video of his comments filled with lies, fear mongering, and violent rhetoric. Videos of Tom Cotton making up reasons that the deal won’t stop Iran’s nuclear program. Glenn Beck compared this agreement to Neville Chamberlain’s decision, among other statements dripping with irony.

Hour 2: Ana joins Cenk for SCS. A teacher has been sentenced to to 22 years in prison for a sexual relationship with an underaged student. Cenk thinks she should get help, but no jail time, while Ana thinks she needs some jail time, but not 22 years. Alabama Police at a hip hop concert tasered a young girl that was experiencing a seizure. When her mother showed up to help, she was also tased and arrested. Officials are working to lift the military ban on transgender Americans to join. The Boy Scouts have decided to possibly lift a ban on gay employees.

Hour 1: Cenk, Ben, and Ana hosting. Cenk announces that TYT has compiled 2 billion views. EuroZone leaders have come up with an agreement with Greece to rescue them from their economic woes. Chris Christie showed his annoyance with being asked questions about Donald Trump’s immigration comments on Fox. Videos of his angry response. Hour 2: Ben leaves, just Cenk and Ana for SCS. The former leader of a huge drug cartel in Mexico has escaped prison for the 2nd time. The FBI is protecting Donald Trump after El Chapo’s son threatened him over his Mexican immigrant comments. Trump is responding by claiming these tweets legitimize his hateful words, and that he would kick his ass rather than negotiate with these murderous cartels. The CEO of Reddit has stepped down under the pressure of many users calling for her resignation.

Hour 1: Cenk, Ana, Jimmy, Wes Clark hosting the Power Panel today. Wes mentions the book he published just yesterday. Kentucky has multiple instances of people defying the gay marriage laws. Even after meeting with the Governor, County Clerk Casey Davis refuses to do so. Videos of Davis telling MSNBC that he refuses. Ted Cruz’ supporters are pissed that his book isn’t on the NY Times Best Seller list even though its at #3 as far as numbers of sales go. NYT claims that the book has been bought in bulk sales in order to get on the list. Donald Trump is leading the GOP presidential field in a new poll. While this news spreads, he has announced that he has to move his latest event to the Phoenix Convention Center due to the extremely high numbers of attendees. Wes talks about how Trump really has no chances, while Cenk thinks there is a possibility.

Hour 2: Update on the Oregon bakery that was forced to pay $135K in damages to a same sex couple that they refused service to. After everyone thought the monetary amount was over refusal of service, the real reason is that the bakery revealed personal information of the couple, leading to death threats and potentially losing their adopted kids. A gay porn star has been convicted of extortion after trying to blackmail a very wealthy businessman he was sleeping with for money. He requested tons of money and an Audi, which he received. It ended when the porn star went back for more money. MasterCard did a study that found more people are worried about their financial information being leaked than nude photos being leaked.

Hour 1: Cenk hosting today. Ted Cruz appeared on Hardball and got into an exchange with Matthews about his new lack of support for the Supreme Court when he was all aboard when the Court ruled in favor of Bush in 2000 for his election. Videos of the cornering that led to Cruz calling the truth just “talking points.” Donald Trump continues to dig an even larger hole regarding his immigration comments, calling them criminals and rapists. Video of his appearance on Anderson Cooper’s show where he said it all over again. Since the Republican Presidential field won’t distance themselves from his rhetoric, the DNC released an ad that illustrated how Trump is running the Party. Despite the GOP’s talking point that they want to reach out to Latino voters, every candidate turned down the National Council of La Raza for a speaking engagement. La Raza is the largest Latino advocacy organization. Jeb Bush told a NH paper that in order for the country to grow out of the rut we’re in, people need to work longer hours. Video of his original comments and his clarification after he caught hell. He explained that he meant more full time work rather than part time hours. Cenk gives facts that show Americans work more than all other industrialized countries, and full time workers work an average of 47 hours.

Hour 2: Ana joins Cenk for SCS. Giants Defensive End Jason Pierre Paul had to have his right index finger amputated due to his fireworks injuries. TYT poll on whether or not he should’ve tried to save the finger and take much more time off from football for recovery. A divorced father of 3 kids was having trouble continuing a relationship with the kids, as they refused to have lunch with their father. The judge in the case ruled that the kids were in contempt and put them in juvenile hall, speaking out in favor of the father that simply wants to have a relationship. Singer Ariana Grande was caught on tape licking donuts in a donut shop while the employee was in the back room. She later said she hates Americans and America. Her PR apology about the obesity problem in America was ridiculous.
